Frequently Asked Questions

The standard EMI formula: EMI = [P × R × (1+R)^N] ÷ [(1+R)^N – 1]

P = Principal, R = Monthly rate (Annual ÷ 12 ÷ 100), N = Total months. Example: Rs10 lakh at 12% for 10 years → R=0.01, N=120, EMI ≈ Rs14,347. Our calculator handles all this automatically.

Simple interest: SI = P × R × T (only on principal). Compound interest: A = P(1 + r/n)^(nt) (on principal + accumulated interest).

Example: Rs1 lakh at 10% for 10 years. Simple → Rs2 lakh. Compound (annual) → Rs2,59,374 — over Rs59,000 more! Difference grows dramatically over longer periods.

ROI formula: (Final Value – Cost) ÷ Cost × 100. Annualized ROI (CAGR): [(1 + ROI)^(1/Years) – 1] × 100.

Benchmarks: S&P 500 ~10%/yr, Sensex ~12%/yr, FDs 6–8%/yr. A 15%+ annualized ROI is excellent. Our calculator lets you compare against all major benchmarks.

Home loans: lowest rates (7–12%), up to 30 years → lowest EMI but most total interest. Car loans: moderate (9–14%), 5–7 years. Personal loans: highest rates (12–20%), 1–5 years → highest EMI. Use our calculator to compare all types.

More frequent compounding = slightly more growth. Daily > Monthly > Quarterly > Yearly. For Rs1 lakh at 10% for 10 years: yearly gives Rs2,59,374; daily gives Rs2,71,791 — about Rs12,000 more.

Most bank savings accounts compound quarterly or monthly. Our calculator handles all 7 modes including continuous compounding.

Simple ROI: total return percentage over the entire period. CAGR (Compound Annual Growth Rate): annualized return that accounts for compounding over multiple years. Formula: CAGR = [(End Value / Start Value)^(1/Years) – 1] × 100.

Example: If Rs1 lakh grows to Rs2 lakh in 5 years, simple ROI = 100%, but CAGR = 14.87% per year. CAGR is a more meaningful metric for comparing investments over different time periods.

The Rule of 72 is a quick mental shortcut: divide 72 by your annual interest rate to find how many years it takes to double your money. At 8%/year → 72 ÷ 8 = 9 years to double. At 12% → 6 years. At 6% → 12 years.

Our compound interest calculator includes a built-in Rule of 72 display that auto-calculates your doubling time based on the rate you enter.

🏦 EMI Loan Calculator — Calculate Monthly Installments for Any Loan

An EMI (Equated Monthly Installment) is the fixed monthly amount you pay to repay a loan over a set tenure. Our free EMI calculator uses the standard reducing-balance formula used by every major bank — HBL, Meezan, MCB, SBI, HDFC, and more:

EMI = [P × R × (1+R)^N] ÷ [(1+R)^N – 1]

P = Principal  |  R = Monthly Rate (Annual ÷ 12 ÷ 100)  |  N = Months

For a home loan of Rs50 lakh at 8.5% for 20 years: R = 0.00708, N = 240, EMI ≈ Rs43,391/month with total interest of Rs54.1 lakh. The amortization schedule shows exactly how each payment splits between principal repayment and interest — critical knowledge before signing any loan agreement.

Loan types supported:

  • Home loan / housing loan / mortgage EMI calculator
  • Car loan EMI calculator (new & used vehicles)
  • Personal loan EMI calculator
  • Education loan / student loan calculator
  • Business & MSME loan calculator

Advanced features:

  • Rate comparison table (current ± 2% spread)
  • Prepayment simulator — see interest saved
  • Full month-by-month amortization schedule
  • Multi-currency: PKR, USD, INR, GBP, EUR

📈 Compound Interest Calculator — Grow Your Savings & Investments

Compound interest is the most powerful force in personal finance — Albert Einstein reportedly called it the "eighth wonder of the world." Unlike simple interest (calculated only on principal), compound interest is calculated on both your principal and previously earned interest, causing your money to grow exponentially:

A = P × (1 + r/n)^(n×t)

P = Principal  |  r = Annual rate  |  n = Compounds/year  |  t = Years

A savings of Rs5 lakh at 7% compounded monthly for 15 years with Rs5,000 monthly contributions grows to approximately Rs21.8 lakh — of which Rs14.3 lakh is interest earned, not contributed.

Calculator features:

  • Monthly contributions / SIP support
  • 7 compounding frequencies: daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, annual, continuous
  • Rule of 72 — instant money-doubling time estimate
  • Effective APY (Annual Percentage Yield) calculation
  • Year-by-year growth table and interactive chart

Use it for: SIP mutual funds, PPF, NSC, fixed deposits, savings accounts, recurring deposits (RD), and any savings or investment goal planning.

💰 Investment ROI Calculator — Measure Returns with CAGR & Real ROI

ROI (Return on Investment) measures how much you earned relative to what you invested. But simple ROI doesn't account for time or inflation — which is why serious investors use CAGR (Compound Annual Growth Rate) to compare investments fairly:

ROI = (Final Value – Cost) ÷ Cost × 100

CAGR = [(End / Start)^(1/Years) – 1] × 100

Real ROI = [(1 + Nominal ROI) ÷ (1 + Inflation)] – 1

Our calculator also adjusts for inflation (real ROI), accounts for dividends and capital gains tax, and benchmarks your returns against S&P 500 (~10%/yr), Sensex (~12%/yr), gold, and fixed deposits — so you always know how your investment performed relative to alternatives.

Asset types supported:

  • Stock market & equity investments
  • Real estate & property ROI (Pakistan, India, global)
  • Gold & precious metals investment return
  • Fixed deposits & bonds
  • Business & startup investment ROI

What-If scenarios: Model returns from –5% to +30% to stress-test your portfolio before committing capital. Compare against all major benchmark indices in seconds.
